Chanel Plans to Make Face Masks to Give Health Care Workers in France



As COVID-19 has continued to spread, it has had devastating effects on the health care industry. Health care workers have been forced to deal with a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), like face masks, gloves, and gowns, making it challenging to care for their patients and themselves. To help offset the shortages, beauty and fashion brands, like LVMH and Christian Siriano, have pledged to donate money or create some of the necessary gear. The latest brand to assist with the production of protective gear is Chanel.

“Today we are mobilizing our workforce and our produce protective masks and blouses," says a statement from the brand, as reported by Reuters on March 29. The luxury fashion brand announced in the statement that face masks and gowns will be produced in its workshops in France.
