From sarees to gown to pantsuits, the B-town’s Cannes looks are the talk of the town
Cannes 2019 is ongoing and among the many celebrities who have been spotted at the 72nd edition of the Festival, our Indian beauties slayed the paparazzi as they graced the Red Carpet – With Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja as the promised patrons, we also had the company of Priyanka Chopra and Hina Khan who made their debut at Cannes this year. Whether you blame it on the Red Carpet’s glamourous sorcery or the irresistible charm of these beautiful ladies that the scene at the French Riviera was a delightful treat for each and every fashionable soul.
Although we are awaiting more looks from the ladies like Huma Qureshi, Diana Penty, and of course Sonam Kapoor Ahuja who recently joined the bandwagon, here we take you on this glitzy journey of all the sartorial looks, from all the B-town attendees – be it the Red Carpet look, the Chopard party or chilling in Cannes.
Deepika Padukone
Carrying the same buoyancy and charm from Met Gala to the Cannes, all her outfits were worth a hundred looks, although the lady is back in town we still can’t keep our awe on hold. Deepika donned two Red Carpet ensembles, off-white one by Peter Dunda and the lime-green one by Giambattista Valli; and four more mesmerising looks – an elegant striped pantsuit by Loewe, Tulle gown from Off-White’s SS19 collection, Philosophy’s #LorenzoSerafini sheer pant-suit number and a floral gown by Erdem.

Priyanka Chopra
When it comes to stealing the limelight, PC is at her best. Whether it’s in these designer outfits or the lady’s intrinsic sensuousness, she looked absolutely regal in every single look – Be it her debut-look of Roberto Cavalli’s shimmery black off-shoulder gown or her final Riviera romance of white tulle by Georges Hobeika, the lady sizzled the trail! She also embraced a Princess Diana’s inspired pearl-white silhouette, light blue belted silk dress with a white fedora hat, Fendi’s mermaid scale dress, and amongst our top favourites were the sunshine dress by Tommy Hilfiger and a night rider beaded metallic dress by Philosophy.
And the hubby-wifey duo wore colour-coordinated outfits throughout their stay at French Riviera where Nick complemented our Desi Girl perfectly. Could they be any more adorable? *sigh*

Kangana Ranaut
Can this bold and beautiful lady do any wrong? Evidently not! As if the aspire-worthy saree airport looks were not enough, Kangana proved her exceptional style game yet again. From her custom-made Corset by Falguni Shane Peacock and Madurya’s Kanjeevaram sari to Nedo’s embellished black pantsuit to her Michael Cinco’s dreamy gown, it was all about glamour. We also liked her Chopard party and ‘a day on a yacht’ look.

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja
Our fashion sweetheart has landed just a couple of days back and is already giving us enough style goals to get excited about. From her three looks (so far) – the drop-dead gorgeous red-coloured Valentino gown to her heavenly Elie Saab gown to the ‘Goddess in Gold’ outfit by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla – we can definitely tell she’s clearly winning the gown game. Can we just skip the coming two days and see all Sonam-personified looks already?

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Even after so many years of numerous appearances at Cannes, how deliriously we wait every year for our beautiful lady to walk the carpet, and like always Aishwarya never fails to woo us with her blinding beauty and unmatchable charisma. This year the lady made her first appearance in an acid lime mermaid gown by Jean-Louis Sabaji couture, followed by an all-white ensemble by Aashi Studio that made her look nothing less than a breathtakingly beautiful cloud of fur. Besides the ethereal Red Carpet looks, she’s absolutely turning heads with all her gala outfits. Does the lady know any limits of beauty? We say nope!

Huma Qureshi
Starting from wearing a dainty sequin black dress by Balmain for the Chopard party, the lady is unstoppable with her back-to-back astonishing looks. Huma is indeed living a victorious time at the South of France this month with the likes of designers like Nauman Piyarji, Angus Kirkby, Mae Paris, Ralph Lauren, and Gaurav Gupta.

Hina Khan
The renowned television actress, Hina Khan was the first Indian face to grace Cannes this year and made everyone a fan since her first Red Carpet walk in an exceptional Ziad Nakad gown with dramatic sleeves and plentiful glitter; and for her second look she chose a sheer, metallic strapless gown by Alin Le’ Kal and it was absolutely delightful to see her in that. To recall other looks sported by the lady: She wore an emerald green Rami Al Ali number, a lovely geometric lavender dress by Maison Armine Ohanyan, and a coordinated sky blue shirt + trousers set by the same label. The cult-favourite daily-soap girl attended the event for the poster launch of her first-ever movie Lines.

Diana Penty
Our dainty beauty, Diana absolutely took our revere for sarees with a stunning silky-satin pearl-white saree by Amit Aggarwal – that hairdo, pearl jewelry, and the cinched waist detailing has us drooling over the look. Her following Cannes looks include Celia Kritharioti’s couture jumpsuit with a giant bow detailing, trench-coat dress with rose motifs by Blumarine, the vibrant yellow feather midi-dress by Atelier Zuhra, and her Red Carpet look where she donned a Nedo gown with faux feathers, layers, and oodles of beaded embroidery. Just one word for her – flawless!

The well-known fashion and beauty influencer Diipa Khosla also graced the Red Carpet with her husband wearing a white couture dress from Dutch designer Edwin Oudshoorn and teamed it with Messika Jewelry.

If we tell you one thing as an approaching trend watching all these looks – it’s all about bringing out the magnificence – so bring in frills, layers, beads, and feathers; and create an admirable Red Carpet moment for your own self.
