The recently launched Spring-Summer 2019 collection ‘Marine Runway’ is a remarkable addition to the designer’s sustainable empire of fashion, it was dedicated to PETA India’s campaign, ‘Fish in tanks, No Thanks!’ to raise awareness about the marine life and to appeal for kindness towards the fishes. The execution of the cause absolutely communicated the sheer dedication and creativity the brand holds in its store – In the moment of the debut, as soon as the models hit the ramp, the runway seemed encased in plastic props and the models enveloped in plastic bags to exemplify hostility, toxification, and urgency of this imperative issue.

Marine Runway - the collection

The fashion that lived through the runway is a collection of seasonally versatile separates made by hand-spun and hand-woven khadi and cotton Kota, with meticulously designed motifs of aquatic animals — the gigantic octopus, quaint sea horse, playful penguins, and glowing fishes embossed to the air-whipped asymmetrical silhouettes in exquisite shades of ivory. The collection also reflects Parsi style embellishment techniques beautified along the tasselled borderlines.
