Lady Gaga’s Makeup Artist Posted the Best Beauty Throwback of Ally From A Star Is Born

For the majority of scenes in A Star Is Born, Lady Gaga's character Ally wore little-to-no makeup at all. But in one impossible-to-forget moment in which Ally performs her hit song, * Why Did You Do That?* on Saturday Night Live, some might remember she stepped out in a blue glitter eye look sent from the gods.

Leave it to Mother Monster's makeup artist IRL, Sarah Tanno, to remind us just how dazzling (in every sense of the meaning) the makeup moment was. Tanno took to her personal Instagram — where she posts her work on Gaga frequently — to share a throwback photo from the powerhouse scene. "#TBT Ally about to perform on SNL #astarisborn one of my favorite looks we did in the film #BTS #ladygaga #sarahtannomakeup," reads the caption on the photo, which is a stunning, up-close shot of the sparkly makeup.

As you can see from the photos, the maquillage consisted of multidimensional blue and purple glitter packed all over the lids, flawless skin, and rosy-pink lips. The eyes were the real standout, though: The mesmerizing indigo-toned shadow reached just slightly above her crease, winged out just so, and then cut off cleanly like a razor. The rest of the eyelid area was left completely bare to highlight the intensity of the glitter and to avoid a messy appearance. The behind-the-scenes Instagram Tanno shared was clearly from when she did Gaga's makeup for the scene and is the best, clearest shot we've seen of the beauty look to date.
