Founded in 2014 by Aakriti Kumar, an alumna of Parsons the New School for Design, is a furniture atelier where sustainable line of action has very well befriended the niche outlook. Differniture’s pattern runs from minimal waste philosophy to functional design sensibilities. Aakriti’s perspective resonates nature’s fluidity at its best. If you are in the liking of stone age and vintage vibes, their offerings are a treat to you!

The Retyrement Plan by Anu Tandon Vieira– Bangalore
The Retyrement plan believes that products are only as good as the practices they support. A Bangalore based design arch that simply makes contemporary from old and their work depicts a serious purpose be it chairs, pouffes or others. Their display of a phulkari-inspired seater at London Design Festival in 2017 has given them wings and the brand is beautifully going places. Each piece is a riot of beautiful technicolour and passion, and much more. Let us tell you a catch here, they like to upcycle tyres and how.

Sylvn Studio by Bandana Jain - Mumbai
Studio derives its handicraft sensibilities from Bandana’s passion of corrugated cardboard, or as she calls it ‘the tale of trash’, her approach shall change your perspective of an ordinary cardboard, the collection from floor lamps to gourd lamps are eclectic and inviting; does your home calls for a revamp? Well treat that ask with Sylvn’s unique lamp collections, we are in complete awe of the lady and the studio!

The Second Wind by Ira Maurya and Abhinav Mehta – Gurugram
Design – Interiors – Furniture, you only have to call for it! The founders say “The Second Wind imbibes the spirit of reviving discarded things into something that finds fresh meaning in your home and ours”. Their creations comprise of furniture made of salvage pinewood and traditional sheesham, not to forget the pastel and pop colour palette. They are indeed proving the say – “Waste for one person can be a piece of art for another”, do believe when we say this sofa in the image is actually an abandoned door. Yes it is thought-provoking!
